Additionally you can transplant the whole of the ZX6 pinion assembly in to the ZX5 gear case, I've done this to my DB2.

This gives you a steel input cup and a steel pinion shaft too = bullet proof!

As for the white ones being a weak point it is only when people didn't shim them properly, there must be ZERO fore/aft play on the pinion shaft. I often ended up with 2 shims behind the pinion after the bearings / bearing carrier had bedded in.
