The plastic planet gear sets have undergone extensive testing by all the Team Durango pro team.
I am also running the V4 and not had any issues with plastic planet gears personally.
I have also started using the plastic planet gears and cross shaft in my DEX210 gear diffs as well as they fit perfectly.
