Maybe you heard of the material abbreviation, POM, or Delrin (a type of POM)?

The material is quite stiff, is quite strong (for material without fibre reinforcement) and has a low friction coefficient (so it's sometimes used for slider bearings and gears, too).

If you need some material to try it out, I have a 8mm thick plate (in white) I could cut a piece off for you.
