Usually it is a little bit of "try a few options and see what fits".
Obviously the motor and servo have to go in certain location and batteries don't have many options so place them where they have to go and then see what space is left. Your ESC will take the next largest space so place that and then whatever is left can be for switch, capacitors, PT etc.
Once you are happy you can then fix them in place.

Some folks will go to the extent of putting car on corner scales to ensure weight distribution, but generally as long as you don't have everything on one side, this isn't an issue.

Finally, if you still aren't sure, try googling "cat k1 aero wiring" and select images - that will show you lots of examples of how others have done it
