I agree it looks like a good deal, but my personnal thoughts will probably mirror what has already been said - try to get a 2nd hand version of what others at your local club drive - that way if you have trackside problems there will be likely to be someone who can assist - whether it is a broken part, a strange noise or set up queries. I picked up a mint condition B44.1 FT spec car for £85.00 so there are good deals out there on the genuine race cars.
That said, the FTX looks good, reports say it runs well and opinions appear mixed as to whether it is robust in standard form, but generally agree that it seems stronger in pro form so if it is what you fancy then give it a go :-)
