Yes I have built the towers with the screws behind etc., and yes I have shimmed the diffs always with additional shims. I drove in the national top 3 with the car and have + 20 years of experience in RC, from which 8 years with Kyosho Germany factory support... IMO it required a lot of maintenance if ran regularly on astro and the towers, well they(all sorts from plastic to carbon and everything in between) snapped just too often. This discussion has already been made long time ago so let's look forward: If they get the little things sorted out the ZX-6 will be a great car, no doubt!

Front towers are mostly due to over tightening the screws to the mount and not reversing the shock mounting screws as I advise.
Same story for mounts / gearbox cases, just snug up slightly longer cap head bokts with plastic washers under the heads of the screws.
Yes you had to pay attention when you built a zx5 but it wasn't fragile in itself like some other 4wd cars out there. That said I didn't seem to have the problems others had with predators either.
Either way the zx6 looks to have guarded against most of those issues.
