Fibreglass is way more dangerous than carbon fibre. Fibreglass leaves GLASS in your lungs, carbon fibre just leaves carbon, which your body is made of anyways
Carbon fibre dust is no different than charcoal, and guys spend their whole lives in coal mines, breathing the stuff for 12 hours a day, before they get black lung at 40-50. An hour of carbon dust isn't going to make any difference when you spend all day breathing car exhaust full of all kinds of carcinogens.
A breather (respirator used when painting cars) and a vacuum will save you from all the evil carbon dust. And the stuff cuts very easily with a hack saw or band saw.
