What battery are you actually using?
If the ESC has a low voltage cut off it may be that the supplied Nimh batteries voltage drops under race loading, in a corridor you won't get the motor fully loaded and not drop below the cut off level.
Get yourself an Ezrun 35a and a couple of lipo's as first and needed upgrade

I ran exactly this setup in a mini8, (same Rtr ESC and motor as 14b) I know a 14b is setup for saddles but if you put your electrics on 1 side and measure the room you have for a battery on the other the above may fit
