It most probs not a weak point or miss manufactured part but a stress razor point. meaning where all of the compined energy from a tumble or corner cut etc goes to and has no where else to go apart from failure.
Sharp corners, square edges are the points, ie a bodyshell, if you use a knife on it and overcut/slip on a corner a crack will apear with use and stress. The thinness place is where a failure will occur.
