oops, you are right, the inner one will give more travel, but I have mounted mine at the outer hole and I do have almost full travel on my knuckles right now with lazer c hubs and arms, which is more than enough in my opinion, as I wouldn't want the knuckles to pull on the c hub and in turn pull on the arm which will impede its own free movement.
