To be just as pedantic,

Clarkson earned a fortune last year thanks to a £4.8m dividend from his share in the production company, and rest was a payment from the BBC to buy out his minority stake in the company they jointly owned. The BBC earned around £8m in dividends. In the future Clarkson will just be getting a standard presenters fee and the BBC will get all the profits.
