We'll wait and see what the new kit brings. I've been working on my XM trying to find some rear end grip on slippery surface without reversing the arms. Reversing the arms is not an easy process on the XM, in the end I gave up trying to do it due to the geometry of the rear shocks and upper arms. Not all is lost though, I did manage to find some rear end grip on slippery surface, but is un yet tested on the race track. I'm hoping to get to the track on 17 Feb for a club race to see if the experimentation has paid off? If so I'll post the set up.
As for the new kit, I'll wait for the cost. Further the XM can be converted back to the XR. Rear motor on dusty dirt tracks is still better than mid drive. IMO the the new kit will come with TRF Blue aluminium gear case as it will provide the strength and rigidity required due to the design. and the rear end of the car. I supports the motor mount and rear shock tower.
