Stop, please stop!!!

Why can't I leave my youth behind? Because you lot want to keep dragging it up in the form of luke-warm pastiches of iconic originals that were only legends because of th time they raced in. Haven't you got anything better to do?!!!
My grandparents went from horses and coaches to cars and telephones; from classical music to jazz to crooners to big bands and left each previous phase behind. My parents went from war to peace, from jazz to pop to rock, from Glen Miller to the Beatles, from Austin 7s to Minis and Anglias, from renting to buying, from radio to TV.
ME? I've gone from the Beatles to Oasis to boy bands all playing the same music; from Beatles songs to copies of Beatles songs; from Minis to...er... Minis; from VW Camper vans to... er... VW Camper vans; from telephones to er... telephones; from encyclopaedias full of information to an internet full of... er... information.
And now you lot want to bring back all the are I raced in the 70s and 80s!! Aaarrgghhhh!!! I want to leave my youth behind and enjoy progress and different things like my forebears did. Is that too much to ask??
(Whilst this is a bit OTT and tongue in cheek, it has a serious point. My generation - born in the late 40s and 50s - are the first to have all the things we did in our youth follow us around as we approach retirement. It is rather weird that today no one can think of anything new to replace what went before, and so many of you want things we made 20, 30 and 40 years ago. I'll take that as a compliment to us who did it first, but please go and do something new!)
