I believe the bladder type shocks are a bit better on tracks with large jumps and helps to prevent the chassis bottoming out, whereas the emulsion type are better on tracks with rougher sections. I prefer emulsion type as it seems to calm the car down at our track. I presume running with vented bladders would be somewhere I between the two.
As Juergen has said maybe a pro driver will correct us but that's how I find them.
