Good point Reg, no track design i have ever done in the years of racing have i put a straight on the podium side running in that direction. The original plan had a chicane but only at the top of the circuit so the problem would of been present anyway!
Fitting additional track markers that put the cars off line on a part of the circuit with less grip and making the track dangerously narrow just made it worse to drive, tho did reduce the speeds slightly!
I would like to thank MSMITH for the designs he does as no one else puts in the time! but that particular one buddy was 3 straights with corners at the end!
Tho you did say you wanted it flowing touring cars would be going at VERY high speed in opposing directions and also flat out heading into the pits, race control and up the straight. With the current track marker conditions they would not stop any cars in those conditions proof of that came from how much they moved last night. Super stocks would of been flat out most of the time possibly getting bored! off road ramp placing becomes an issue due to speed and so on. All cars would have been at full throttle for 90% ish of the track so the possibility of over heating the motors / speedo's becomes a concern, something no racer wants.
In response to Dave "nicely put". losing a club member is never a good thing...no matter how it is put!
Looking forward to a great track next week!
