+1 on the 3m stuff, not cheap mind you..!
I have used sticky back velcro on all my cars/buggies, planes n boats and have yet to find one that
doesnt work.. wilkos, b&q, local dressmakers, ebay everywhere... so I'd deffo look at your application technique...
