Default Ride height

Just looking for some information on ride height. My base set up I run wishbones level, with a slight increase on the front which works out roughly 21mm front, 20mm rear.

Browsing through various setups, mainly from drivers down south - they all seem to have very low ride heights! How is this being done? I can scrape 19mm however the shock collars are unwound to the most itl go.

A few examples;
Kev Lee, 19mm all round - something I can achieve.
Elliot Boots 18mm all round
Tony Evdoka 18mm - 19mm rear
Kev Lee 16mm all round - I cant get anywhere near this.

I do notice that drivers are using the medium shock eyelet on the rear, but when applying this, I notice a few things.

Firstly droop is vastly reduced, as standard with the long eyelet rear traction can be a struggle at times, so when running the medium eyelet rear end grip is further reduced.

With the medium eyelet attached, to get 17/18mm ride height the shock collar is wound down quite a lot and giving a lot of spring pre load. This seems to give the shock a stiffer feel and looses the progressiveness.

Now, am I missing a trick here, or is this something only a few drivers are doing?
