Not sure on the revenation, but on the 2.0's you could plug the wire from rx to esc in the wrong way round so at the esc signal wire is in the nevative etc. one of our club members did it after giving his car a realy good rebuild, took me quite a while to figure out what was the problem

It was easy to do as the speed passion loom was 3xblack wires from rx to esc

not sure if it helps but maybe worth a look
