I'm lucky to have both 4wd and 2wd cars. I enjoy both cars as they are very different to drive and require a different style. The 2wd requires a good set up and knowing how change the car to suit your driving style, its a rewarding drive for sure. The 4wd is easiear to drive fast and the drive line helps mask a poor set up, I've had both shaft and belt drive types and I'd say the shaft drive is faster but less forging to drive plus it requires more consentration. The belt drive is more forgiving and easiest to drive but does require more maintance and needs a strip down to clean more often.

A 2wd car is simpler to maintain if your time is limited for that sort of thing.
