I measured the exposed threads outside the adjuster nut before disassembly and when it was back together and I tested it, I had to back it off about 3/4 turn to get the same slipper setting so maybe they just need a clean (my car has only done 2 meetings from new).
Also did you compress the spring with pliers when you built the slipper?

yes i compressed the spring i think

, looks like maybe i shouldnt have but i did it with pliers for about a minute. ill try cleaning the pads.
