I think it's to do with the rear suspension link, which on my cat sx2 the rear wheels go into positive camber when the suspension is compressed.

This helps it turn well on grippier surfaces, but I think on dirt, running a longer link will help prevent the positive camber if setup right, and make the rear end stay more planted when cornering.

Not sure if your K1 is doing the same thing...just a guess.
