I received my set of Tamiya BB springs the other day and compared them to my new TLR 22 Low Frequency springs - they are very similar in length. This was my biggest issue as most know that typical rear springs (AE, TLR) are around 2.75" long - too long to get a Tamiya 4WD rear end down to a normal ride height. The only alternativer was to cut the spring down by one or two coils - which I hated doing, they never seemed to sit right. I have been running TLR front springs in the front of my 511, and TLR 22T front springs in the rear of my 511. I do run TLR big bores shocks, but it made no difference with TRF Aeration shocks (std bore) or not - the 2.75" long springs we always too long. So, all this to say, the new TLR springs are 2.5", the same as the new Tamiya BB springs - so if you'd prefer a more common measurement for your spring rates - use TLR's LF BB springs!
