Both piston flat and tapered can be used.
Flat for large track with long corners
Tapered for small tracks with small corners
TeamC or Abysma pistons are also fitting ( perhaps the same manufacturer than Yokomo )
Associated pistons OK ... same diameter than Yokomo piston ( except the shaft diameter, piston is moving a little )
Avid pistons OK ... but the external diameter is bigger than Asso/Yok pistons ( and thicker )...it could change the damping.
I ever test from 2 holes to 6 holes...on dirt track.
The 2 holes make the car quicker, more responsive, faster but perhaps a little bite more difficult to drive.
The 6 holes make the car stable, with more "pack" than 2 holes pistons and easier to drive than 2 holes
For springs, I personally use Yokomo spring because stiffer than Asso springs...when I use Asso springs more of the time I use Blue or White spring on the Front and Yellow on the rear.
