My RTR was dog slow in a straight line. I bought the SP 9.5t motor from rcmart and it makes a substantial difference to the straight line speed, I had to completely rebalance the car by moving the battery (shorty) as far forward as possible and adding some weight to stop it wheeling and almost flipping over.
Took it to a large astro track a couple of weeks ago and it was a totally different proposition on the track, more more competitive and still rode the bumps nicely balanced. I was doing ok until the RTR servo died for no reason and I didnt have a spare, now swapped to a savox low profile.
I'm still running the stock RTR gearing.
