Its worse than that - what if someone turns up with a shell that claims to be a rally car but actually looks nothing like it? When rallying was popular around 2000 one of the things that killed it was Proline made an 'Imprezza' shell that was clearly a touring car aero shell slightly modified to have Imprezza style lights. It looked nothing like a true scale Imprezza but it was a whole lot quicker on the track.
In fact, by that time all competitive rally cars were running Imprezza or Evo shells anyway (Focus and 206 shells just didn't handle as well) and most had swapped the original scale wings for TC wings.
Literally the only way it can work is to have an approved shell list and it
must be specific ie a Controlfreakz RS200 etc.
