Re my RTR 210.
Hello all,
Well, it has been over 20 years since I last did this with a Pro Cat
Ok, some questions re the tech side.
I am looking to buy some good batteries to race with, so I have seen some other threads on this re personal choice over the shorty, stick or saddle - I can't decide on this bit, but some of the fella's down the club suggest saddle. Ok numpty question
No 1. Can the speed controllers support any 'power' of Li-po? Or doesn't it work that way?
Most modern brushless speed controllers can handle the Mah rating that the modern batteries have, however this figure comes into play when it comes to charging, some chargers like the cheaper/older models dont have the higher rating and although they can charge the packs, cant do a proper job. so for example my charger doesnt support higher than 5000mah. but i can charge cells 5000mah and above just not properly.
2: As I will be changing my speed controller connector to bullets ( I think that's what they are called?) Which ones do I need?
These here seem pretty good and are quite cheap http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ors_10pc_.html
Try also doing a search on Ebay for 4mm banana plugs
3: I have purchased a Core stick transmitter as this my preference, and the stock receiver is stuck with double sided tape to the chassis. 20 years ago we used Velcro for ease of removal. What is the method these days, double sided tape?
Personal preferance. I use double sided tape as i dont expect to have to move my electrics round at all
4: What rear tyre foam inserts should I use, medium?
Depends on your track really, but in most cases yes, medium is the way to go. I recommend the Schumacher tubby inserts
5: I read somewhere about Duracell batteries not being suited to some transmitters. If I have that correct, what batteries should I buy?
Not Sure about that one, I use B&Q or Sainsbury brand in my radio as they are cheap and do the job
6: FINALLY

what tyre glue should I use?
Cant go far wrong with this stuff. http://www.rccarshop.co.uk/index.php...lue-1-2oz.html
Just be careful with it as its pretty strong and flows like water
I'll get my coat!
