[theory]It'll be noisier, wear faster, and may lead to cracking under high impulse loads (landing under power, over tight slipper). On the upside, the drive line inertia will be lower and it'll reduce the effective stiffness/drag of the diff. There are a few other things that might happen, but it's been years since I've done any gearbox design, so not going to dig out any text books! [/theory]
I've got several spare diffs/prop shafts, we can set some up and see what happens?
