It's too long ago since anything was posted here...
One year on and the same TRF201 looks like this
I've been doing a lot of small stuff on the car to get it to perform better and better:
- Shorty Pack (the car just goes better with it somehow - it's hard to explain and was a while back since I changed to shorties, but it handles noticably better).
- Kyosho Ultima SC Gear Diff (works VERY well for me on astroturf, the car responds so much more directly and I get more drive even compared to a tight ball diff - ball diff seems better on clay so far).
- Small (75T) Asso Spur (motor sits completely against gearbox - combined with the rear suspension spacer in front of the upright/LWB it should help to reduce the pendulum effect of the rear motor).
- XA +0.5 Degrees Toe-in Suspension Hanger (it becomes so much more planted with it - and with the relatively short wheelbase the car really needs it).
- Spacers on steering assembly to minimize bump steer (it seems to make the steering a bit more predictable).
- Carbon Front Tower+3D printed Camber Link Blocks (Bling+Durability: no more M-parts trees for me).
- XV-01 Reinforced uprights (to allow more clearance between camber link and rear shocks).
And the latest addition, spring holders for (Durango) Big Bore springs! I've found the (AE) small bore springs tend to warp under compression and rub on the shock bodies - this combined with the rear springs hitting the rear camber link makes for inconsistent spring action. This mod (and the XV-01 uprights) should help solve this, and BB springs may prove to be more consistent than SB ones.
From here on there is one more mod that I'm pretty certain of will help performance: a longer wheelbase

(+8mm-ish) - Now I just have to consider whether I'll butcher two chassis into one example, or use the Exotek kit.
