Due to possible early retirement before March 2014 and defo retirement/redundancy end of 2016 it's time to call a halt to my RC racing
Haven't raced since Nov 2012 and haven't missed it to be honest
, although I have been over to the club. But even that's been a struggle to do.
May keep a carpet car to race just locally but we'll see how things go in the meantime.
So lots of RC kit to go as I work through my inventory.
I know I won't be missed in some quarters of the hobby
Reason for getting out of RC is,
SABIC who I work for are restructuring its Teesside operations so may get VR for 2014, but if not I'll go when the site closes in 2016/17. The timings just right either way, 54 now and 58 in 2016/17, so no worries about going either VR or redundancy. Have been lucky I guess since starting work in 1976 with Asda (1 year) , then Commodore Business Machines (1 year) then, 35 years continuous employment so far which may stretch to 38 via ICI, Huntsman & Sabic.
