My experience with bigbore shocks over last 3 years roughly, is that it's not so much about changing tyres or springrate but instead getting on board with the basic concept of bigbores using lighter oil weights in comparison to their smaller diameter brethren - somewhere between 2.5 and 5.0 weights.
Once you get settled with how these larger shocks react, that's when you can start getting into other pistons and things.
