Lee, I'm an unknown on this forum but browse it often, and have enjoyed reading your restore threads as you obviously have an eye for detail and a passion for these cars.
But going buy the pictures you've posted of the car dropdown, it's hard to see that the car wasn't in very good condition. I reckon an expectation of a new car when buying a 'mint' used car is unrealistic. Yes I haven't seen the car in person but you're presenting pictures on a forum and basically inviting comments, then telling everyone to sod off when they don't concur with you. This kind of reaction isn't going to endear you to the masses.
Having said that the car rebuild is coming along nicely and I hope you are happy with the end result.
