I had the exact same problem when assembling the rear suspension on my friends Durga. He built the Diffs, so I cannot comment on "WHY" this is the case. We ended up only using 1 red sponge on the spring-n-nut side to keep the free-play similar from left to right. It still had more "bind" on that side, but I didn't want to risk it running no sponges on that side.

The really odd thing is that this was only a problem in the rear.

***edit*** I would wager the diffs are simply overly tight causing the long screw to stick out too far through the nut. I did notice my friend has his diffs WAY too tight. He's too lazy to fix it though... <_<
