If it's painted using waterbased paints, could you not just soak it for a few days and them use a scrubbing pad (those green things) or a brillo pad to take the paint off ?

I know if it's good old fashioned solvent based paint you have no chance.

If you 'brillo' it you will scratch the hell out of it, but you won't notice it once it's painted again. Do not scratch the windows though as you won't be painting them and it will look a bugger !
