The new spur gear is just to resolve the misalignment and noise issues with the kit spur gears without having to do a bunch of modifications to the slipper assembly or buy extra parts to make it work. I ran the new gear all weekend and everything was good, perfect alignment and noise free.
My slipper is working good but I do think a thicker pad and stiffer spring would offer better adjustment of the slipper assembly. My spring was to springy when first assembled so I squeezed it together a little in a vice and it certainly seems more consistant now.
Its all a step in the right direction.
