My experience of the Royal Mail complaint process is a complete joke. I was recently impacted by this as seller of an item in eBay. I charged the buyer and paid for next day special delivery and the parcel eventually took 4 days to arrive.
I could have filled in all the forms, faxed proof of my reciept, jumped through 17 hoops, spun around on my head for three day and then then waited for a hell to freeze over for them to review my complaint all for the pleasure of them refunding potentially 50% of the £11 i paid.
I am convinced that they know that no one is going to bother going through all the crap just to get back the tiny amount of a refund they offer.
I was fortunate that the buyer could see that none of this was my fault and he agreed that the faff wasn't worth the refund.
