I know exactly how you feel, i had the car feeling really good on AE shocks, silver springs all round with red losi pistons and 30wt rear and 35 wt up front.
I switched to losi shocks and so far im not convinced, but the team drivers seem to use the losi shocks so they must use them for a reason, i have gone back to red pistons all round now with losi shocks so i hope to get that special x6 feel back
