120 miles? It really is relative. Texas is larger than England and we have the "RC Pro Series" of Texas with some locations over 500 miles away from each other. Each of these 2 day races average 180-250 entries with a 250 entry cap.

Us Yanks are used to this driving I know, but we use it as an excuse to take off for a few days from work and time AWAY from the wives or girlfriends. We drink, see a ball game, go to the beach and the local racers show us out-of-towners where the best bars and sights are. Many who can't afford to go by themselves carpool and share hotels with other racers and make a mini-holiday out of the whole thing. It unites Texas racers greatly! When the best of the best do leave the state for a National level race, they now know each other and room together when traveling very long distances. 120 miles is only 2-4 hrs. Some people around new york city commute 2hrs thru traffic to work every day!
Make a fun trip out of it, it is all relative.
