Your right though, that is very much the case now, but when Centro first arrived it wasn't so much....metal/aliminium was totally the norm for chassis in 1/8th prior to that...which is possibly also another influence.
And anyway, they say duplication is the highest form of flattery...so it's not even a bad thing really.
What ever drove that change, it was a reaction to other manufacturers that got the top Schumacher guys closer to the AE guys the following year at the nats, whereas the AE boys were really flying out on their own almost the year Centro first hit.
Which is why it's all fun and interesting!
For AE, taking a smaller brands development, and making it a mass market design is something they've done before...think about where the B44 came from originally...JConcepts BJ4
The B5 may follow that same process...by taking Atomic Carbon and CML's developments of their products and making it their own...
