I have done that a few times. A few good tips are:
Fill the nearby holes with grub screws as there isn't a lot of material between the holes.
Put a metal 410 spacer or something similar on the stud side to spread the load a bit as well.

Like the previous thread I use a metal spacer and a longer stud with a nut on.
