We do have a massive stock of 3-gear trans cases; however, it may be the worst mold we have ever made and you'll work very hard with shim stock, the occasional touch from a Dremel, and a hobby knife to get one of them to run well. Even then, it's noisy and everything wears fast. The 4-Gear, of course, is just the opposite: Throw the gears in and she runs quiet forever.
Further, we have no 3-gear motor plates and don't know where one might be, so if you have a 3-axis mill in your basement, or if you know a machinist, it's not too hard to make one. Otherwise...
The 3-gear was made for the original molded shock tower (of which I think we still have one or two -- writing from home so not sure) so the trans height shims are different front to back to make it sit level and I'm not certain you can have the zero height. But the 3-gear will bolt into a Squared chassis.
