My settings are:
Boost Timing - 8 (my understanding is that this is the OVERALL timing, i.e all the time)
Turbo Timing - 10 (my understanding is that this is the extra timing only on FULL throttle)
Turbo Slope - 24deg (not sure what this is or what it does......)
Turbo Delay - 0.3 (Delay on full throttle before TURBO timing is added ??)

I have updated the firmware via the PC and I noted that a few settings are greyed out in the PC software when connecting the ESC - in the advance tab, the Boost Start RPM is greyed out and set at 1000rpm and also the Boost timing AAC is greyed out and set to 50rpm/deg.

Do you have enough traction that you would notice the turbo?
If your gearing is long, turbo might not help at all because the motor cannot wind up.
If your straight is short, lets say 20metres or less, you should have a short gearing and a low turbo delay value (0.2secs).
Of course, the longer the straight, bit longer gearing and longer turbo delay.

The key is that your car/surface must have enough traction and motor time to spool up to max revs+and then after delay, the turbo kicks in.

On my 4WD (running on clay) I don't use boost at all, it usually affects the throttle feeling (making it worser). This is how the pro's run on clay also (check Tebo and Cavalieri setups from Orion website).
Sometimes I use some turbo (10-15deg) with delay of 0.2 or 0.3 secs. Pro drivers doesn't seem to use even this...

And about those greyed boxes, the only way to change those is to change the firmware from the standard mod-->stock one.
You can use same settings with the stock firmware too, but have more tuning options. Maximum values for boost and turbo goes up also.
I'm using stock firmware with 1/12 MOD and standard mod software in my 4WD with 6.5-7.5T motors.
