I'm afraid you're missing the point a bit if you think Xray made a copy of the D4? The whole piece in between those 4 wishbones is nothing alike apart from the approximate layout of the electronics (which happens to be the same as almost any current shaft drive 4WD)

Higher build quality and finish than the competition is just as much of a step forwards as new features on the chassis/geometry/etc.
