I've never done TC racing myself, missed it completely in 20 years away from RC, but I do race the GT12 and it's ace, really fun. Car is pretty simple to setup, and it can be cheap too. It's not needing three sets of tyres per meeting (like TC) and the car is solid, so simple, there is nothing to break!
It's fast and really competitive, and relies a lot more on driver skill as the power plants are equally matched with 1S/13.5T/Blinky.

You aren't even allowed three sets at the TC nationals, where a couple of tenths a lap might make a difference. I used two sets of tyres for my whole outdoor season this year (racing a couple of times a month). My indoor tyres from the last two seasons still have life in them.
