Its good to see someone getting back into the hobby. Believe me, when you try brushless and lipos, the difference between what you used to run and that will amaze you. You said it would cost a lot, but it doesn't have to. Etronix do sensorless brushless combos for about £60, and are great for getting into brushless. For lipos, you could get a battery and charger for £50, but make sure you do your homework as they are dangerous if handled incorrectly. Good luck with your shopping/research/racing!
