As much as I completely agree that keeping newbies on slower electrics is the ideal solution, it's just a tough one to watch over...people will buy what they want...it's like introducing a new racing class...that then needs rules and someone to check the rules are being adhered to...and IMO Caldicot is not really about that kind of racing!
Giving the youngsters some sort of focus, or target is not a bad idea though...maybe the incentive is prize based...so they get something physical out of it too...I know I'd have loved winning bits of useful equipment or something...I'm sure the club could stretch to something for that...

Im sure Nuclear RC would be happy to make a regular donation for that although glues, grease, wire & acetone probably isnt going to get kids too excited
