Mark. If its not easy to meet up with Nigel your more than welcome to borrow my circlip pliers too, I work in MK so can meet one lunchtime or after work (typical Telstar won't be on for a couple of weeks).
Before I got mine i used two 1.5mm hex drivers. Not ideal but did the trick when I built the cat diffs. Just be carful the circlip doesn't ping off and fly round the room.
You may find that if the circlip has been under tension in the wrong outdrive its lost its tension. Might be a good idea to order a spare with your next order, I used my last one on a rebuild the other week otherwise you could have had that.
