One thing not to do. There are longitudinal braces in the battery tray which stiffen it and separate the cells should you want to run cells. They have been designed so any kind of LiPo will sit flat on them. Note the chassis slopes up on both sides. A full stick LiPo will just touch the chassis on the outside and the braces different heights so any pack is supported across the full width of the chassis. These braces also help with chassis stiffness and strength. Some people want to Dremel these braces down so the battery sits lower.

We recommend not to do that. The very small gain in lowering the weight of a shorty or saddle is more than offset by reduced stiffness. Much engineering work went into the chassis, with flex analysis and strength analysis to make it as light as possible, get the weight as low as possible, yet keep it strong. It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature...
