I've been running the 4mm trailing axles for a while and feel that they allow me to lean on the car more. Generally I feel they smooth out the car and take away some of the grip on exit making it smoother through that stage of the turn. In summary, for me they have made the car more consistent to drive.
But in answer to your question about running them indoors, I am not so sure as I haven't had the chance to test back to back with the standard (2mm trailing) spindles yet. It does depend on your driving style and what you are looking for in your car at the moment as to whether or not the 4mm spindles will aid you in achieving a better balance for you.
