I'm quite new to all this too, but am learning fast. It sounds to me that you have a not particularly fast motor and you have advanced it too much. Result - no torque. None. But it'll rev to the moon.
The 60A Speedo will handle a more powerful motor than the one you have now. Perhaps a 9.5t or even a 8.5t. Pop one of those in with standard 7 degree timing and gear it down and you might be pleasantly surprised!
You could pick up a decent motor secondhand for £25 or a new less well known make on eBay for a similar amount. Being sensoress will only make the power slightly less linear from standstill.
