Yes it can.

I would however recomend the most cost effective solution would be to by a 2nd hand FS/FS2 and a couple of 2nd hand saddle lipos. The saddle pack car, like most other manufactures, is a much nicer drive and quicker on a lap too.

If you go for the stick pack Lazer make sure you go for the steel CVD style driveshafts and steel diff outdrives as minimum upgrades if your going to run much hotter than a stock / spec type motor.
After that you'd want the later cars front knuckles/uprights & wishbones along with the appropriate driveshafts to go with those. After that you can keep going till you get an FS2-sp but there won't be much of your original RTR left.
